Microsoft Copilot launches the “Think Deeper” feature, allowing free users to experience deep analysis。

Free Trial of "Think Deeper"
On January 25, tech media Windows Latest reported that Microsoft started inviting Copilot users to experience the "Think Deeper" feature for free on January 24. This feature takes more time to analyze problems and gradually breaks down reasoning to generate more detailed answers that better meet user needs.

Based on OpenAI’s O1 Model
"Think Deeper" is based on OpenAI’s O1 model and was previously only available in Microsoft's Copilot Labs, exclusive to Copilot Pro subscribers. It can analyze user prompts and list the steps of reasoning in detail to make the process clearer. Similar to OpenAI’s O1, "Think Deeper" cannot access real-time information from the web, and its knowledge base is only updated up to October 2023. It also does not display the source of the information.

Usage Restrictions
The "Think Deeper" feature is currently available to a limited number of free Copilot users, with a usage limit. Free users can only use it about three times a week, while the limit for paid users depends on the number of simultaneous Copilot Pro users, allowing up to 50 uses per week. When too many users are using "Think Deeper" at the same time, the feature icon becomes semi-transparent, indicating that the feature consumes a lot of resources. This is also why Microsoft cannot provide more usage opportunities even for Pro users.

Feature Performance
Tests by Windows Latest show that "Think Deeper" performs excellently in tasks that require deep reasoning and analysis, such as math and science problems, coding challenges, scenario planning, and creative generation. For example, in a test to create a fitness plan, "Think Deeper" not only provides training plans based on user input but also offers more comprehensive guidance on protein intake, training details, and nutrition advice according to user goals (such as muscle building), whereas regular Copilot requires multiple interactions to achieve similar results.

Summary
Microsoft’s Copilot introduces the "Think Deeper" feature, allowing free users to experience this deep analysis tool. Based on OpenAI's O1 model, "Think Deeper" excels in a variety of tasks and provides more detailed and user-specific answers. Despite usage limits, the release of this feature will undoubtedly enhance user experience and efficiency. We look forward to more users benefiting from it.
